The Ranch
About Elm Springs
Spain pushed its frontier to the San Saba River in 1757, raising a mission and a stone presidio near the town of Menard. The mission burned inside a year and its site stayed lost until archaeologists found it in the 1990s, but the presidio ruins still stand on the riverbank where anyone can walk them. Then there is the legend, and legend is all it is, of the lost San Saba silver mine. Jim Bowie rode out in 1831 to hunt it, found a famous fight instead of silver, and Menard still celebrates the tale every June at Jim Bowie Days.
Elm Springs lies in that same storied valley, 1,694 acres on the northwestern edge of the Hill Country in Menard County. Tracts here run generous, enough ground to hold a real piece of this country without taking on a whole ranch. Restrictions stay light, mainly keeping commercial use out, so the valley stays the kind of place it has always been.
If Central Texas is in your family's story, or you want it to be, this is a fitting place to put down roots. Owner financing runs as little as 5% down with notes up to 30 years. Call us, or come walk this old valley yourself.
